Hear more about the fascinating lesbian diarist, scholar, business woman and traveller as we explore her home, the changes she made to it, the legacy she has left behind and the forthcoming Gentleman Jack TV series for the BBC by Sally Wainwright. This tour focussed on Anne Lister (1791-1840) will be with the Museum's curator in a group of no more than twelve and include some behind-the-scenes access, followed by tea and cake.

Tickets include the private tour, entry to the Hall and tea or coffee with cake to celebrate Anne's 229th birthday. After the tour there will be time to explore the Hall and grounds for yourself, with friendly staff on-hand to answer questions and tell you more.

Please note Shibden Hall only has level access to the ground floor. This tour will be going throughout the Hall and up some narrow stairs. Please contact us before booking to discuss any access requirements.

On the 3rd April 2019, there will also be the chance to share memories and experiences of LGBTIQ+ life with the West Yorkshire Queer Stories project who will be recording interviews on the day and talking about their oral history project. Find out more here: http://www.wyqs.co.uk/
