Join us at 4.30pm on Anne Lister's 229th birthday as we unveil a new blue plaque in conjunction with Halifax Civic Trust to commemorate Anne Lister (1791-1840) of Shibden Hall. Diarist, businesswoman, landowner, traveller and lesbian, who recorded much of her personal life in a secret code.
The unveiling is free to attend.
At 3.30pm there is a free talk with biographers Helena Whitbread and Jill Liddington at 3.30pm in the Aisled Barn. Places are limited so please reserve a ticket in advance through the Eventbrite link.
Shibden Hall will be open from 10am to 5pm.
PLEASE NOTE: Parking at the top car park nearest the Hall is limited so we do advise parking in the larger car park off the A58 at the bottom of the hill by the lake and cafe and walking up where possible.
