Armed Forces Day 2023

To celebrate Armed Forces Day 2023, join us for a range of military talks and demonstrations aimed at all ages.

This will include a display of Eighteenth Century military drill by historical reenactors, a chance to handle military kit from throughout history, and see modern-day armed vehicles used by the Royal Yorkshire Regiment.

Visit the Duke of Wellington’s Regimental Museum to explore the regiments long history.

• Museum: 10am to 4pm - Childrens craft activities.
• Library: 10am to 4pm - Displays of historical and replica equipment.
• Main Hall: 10am to 4pm - Royal Yorkshire Regiment weapons and vehicle display.
• Akroyd Park: 11am - Re-enactor display, Revolutionary War.
• Akroyd Park: 11am to 3pm - Talks on soldiering through the ages.
• Oak Gallery: 1pm - Re-enactor display, Napoleonic War.
• Akroyd Park: 3pm - Re-enactor display, First World War.
