John Holland’s Local Landscapes
This event takes place at Bankfield Museum
During 2023 the main hall at Bankfield will be hung with several works by John Holland (1829-1886), held in Calderdale Museums Service’s collection.
Holland was born in Nottingham and painted landscapes and coastal scenes. He lived in Hebden Bridge for a few years, around 1867, and exhibited locally in Halifax and Hebden. The artworks to be displayed include views of Mytholmroyd, Cragg Vale, Todmorden, Burnley Valley and Hebden Bridge.
There will be a talk about John Holland by members of the Hebden Bridge Local History Society on Wednesday 11 January at 7.30pm in Hebden Bridge Methodist Church.
