Calderdale Open Art Exhibition 2026 Entry Portal Opens
The Calderdale Open Art Exhibition is returning in 2026. Open to all amateur and professional artists who are invited to submit original artwork in any 2D format (e.g. paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, textiles). Successful entries will be displayed at Smith Art Gallery.

About the event
Calderdale Open Art Exhibition 2026
The Calderdale Open Art Exhibition is returning in 2026.
This competition is open to all amateur and professional artists who are invited to submit original artwork in any 2D format (e.g. paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, textiles). Successful entries will be displayed for a 5 month exhibition at Smith Art Gallery, Brighouse opening on Saturday 16 January 2027.
There will be prizes awarded to the top three works as chosen by a panel of judges, including a 1st prize of £250 provided by Calderdale Museums and a 2nd prize of a £200 gift voucher from AC Framing and Gallery. There is an additional £100 People’s Prize voted for by visitors to the exhibition which will be announced when the exhibition closes.
The theme of this year’s competition is memories.

The entry portal opens on 01 August 2026 and closes 15 November 2026
Admission
There is a £20 fee for the first artwork and £10 for every other artwork up to a limit of 3 per entry. Your entrance fee will be used to support the local Museum service.
