Calderdale Museums has one of the best but little known textile collections in the country. There are 17,000 objects, collected from all over the world.
The monument in celebration of Anne Lister of Shibden Hall (1791-1840) was built by the Women's International Stone Alliance (WISA). It was opened by Anne Lister biographer Helena Whitbread on the 11 September 2022.
Calderdale Museum Service maintain the sites and collections at Bankfield Museum, Shibden Hall, the Smith Art Gallery and two other museum stores in the region. These sites house a range of over 70,000 objects.
