Vintage Sewing Machines - Learn to use Attachments: Binders and Rufflers!

Have you ever wondered what those intriguing looking metal attachments that came with your vintage sewing machine can do?

This year we are offering 3 sessions with each covering 2 different types of attachments to help you make the most of your vintage sewing machine - no prior experience needed, and each workshop stands alone. Perfect for curious beginners and sewing enthusiasts alike!

In this final session, we will dive deep into the attachment box to help you identify ruffler feet, gathering feet, shirring attachments and binders. Local collector and enthusiast Jeanette Spriggs will teach you how to neaten and enhance seam allowances, armholes, necklines etc, with commercial or homemade bias binding, and how to ruffle, gather, shirr fabric to give your projects shape and texture.

Please do not bring your own sewing machine. All equipment including vintage sewing machines, attachments, thread, fabric etc. will be provided for you. You are welcome to bring your own box of attachments to help you with identification.

Tickets are £25 per person, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
